Love, love, love this new jacket pattern

After searching for ages for a nice jacket for my 3 year old daughter, it seems that clothing manufacturers don’t think that girls need to stay warm in winter. I found lots of cool boys’ jackets but the really nice ones for girls were super-expensive. So when Toni from Make it Perfect released this one recently, I was delighted! It’s a snappy little jacket called Uptown Girl and is easy to make and reversible!

Sale, sale, sale!

We currently have a childrens’ fabric sale running until 2nd November. We’re offering 20% – 30% off selected kids’ clothing and furnishing fabrics. Fabrics on sale include cute Japanese novelty prints, gorgeous Australian designs by Prints Charming, selected Moda fabrics and beautiful nursery prints by US designer Anna Griffin.

Ten Sticky Fingers

Casey from Ten Sticky Fingers sent me this photo to show what she’s been making with some of the Swell fabric. I just love this combination of fabric and red detail! Casey runs the fabulous online store, Ten Sticky Fingers which sells all sorts of gorgeous hand crafted kids’ stuff. Don’t be surprised if you don’t see these on the web site though, as she said so far she’s sold more than she’s made!

Fabric letters

How cute are these fabric letters from Anthropologie. They would be super-easy to make. Just enlarge some printed text and use as a pattern. Cut two pieces of fabric for each letter and sew a 1 inch rectangular piece along the edges to make the letters 3D. Stuff them and hand sew the remaining opening. Fabulous idea for a child’s room, or use more sophisticated fabrics for elsewhere.
