Market Skirt Pattern

Here’s a sample of the Market Skirt pattern made up in Amy Butler’s Water Bouquet in the Midnight colourway.
This is a nice simple pattern with a gentle a-line shape. It’s super-easy to make. No zips or waistband. Just elastic casing around the waist. Very comfy!
It also makes a great early pregnancy or postnatal skirt too. Because, let’s face it, if you want to sew maternity clothes, there’s not exactly a truckload of options to choose from.
The Water Bouquet is also available in the Mint colourway below.

Amy Butler Water Bouquet

We sent off some of our Amy Butler Water Bouquet fabric to Inside Out magazine a while ago. And, here’s the result – a beautiful contemporary quilt all styled up!

Amy Butler Love

I’ve recently uploaded the new Amy Butler collection, Love to the shop. I’m a bit partial to a bit of indigo in my wardrobe, so I do love the blues in this collection. Such a refreshing addition to the greens and pinks!
I also like the inclusion of the Indonesian batik print. Although this is not uncommon in this part of the world, it’s quite unusual for an American designer to include this style.
These are my favourites…

Amy Butler Daisy Chain

Amy Butler’s latest collection, Daisy Chain is now in stock. It’s a nice one for summer with some lovely subtle florals and some stronger mosaic prints. There are some beautiful inspiring images showcasing the fabrics on her web site here.

Here are a few of my favourites…

Grandiflora Aqua

There is something I really love about this fabric. The colour and the scale of the print make it very striking, but it’s then toned down a notch with the understated taupe background. Mmm, nicely balanced.

New Amy Butler Patterns

I’ve had a few enquiries about when we’ll be getting the new Amy Butler patterns. The Sophia Carry-all and the Lotus Tunic & Cami will be available in our store early December and the Kimberly bag and Anna tunic will be available early January (or maybe late December).

New Amy Butler Nigella

I’ve decided that this one is my favourite and is destined for a summer skirt…

But then again, I quite like this one too.

Both of these and others available in the store here. We also have other colourways due in a few weeks.

Amy Butler – Nigella

“Nigella”…as in the fabric collection, not as in “let me show you my aromatics”! Ordered and due in 3 or 4 weeks…a selection of Amy Butler’s Nigella collection. Some of the Petal colourways are shown above. We also have some of the other colourways ordered and they’re due to arrive August/September.
The fabric is extra wide (150cm) soft, medium weight cotton. A good all-rounder, it is suitable for home decorating but also soft enough for craft, quilting and clothing.

Gum Drops!

We’ve just got the new Amy Butler Gum Drop Pillows pattern in stock. I’m very keen to test it out! The larger ottoman style one will be a nice addition to my daughter’s room. The picture on the front also showcases Amy’s new fabric range, Nigella. We’ll also be stocking this when it arrives!
